Carise joined CCBR as a volunteer because she wanted to feel more connected to her community. She was drawn to CCBR because of the resources offered on the CCBR website, which she has relied on in her remote work role as research coordinator of the National Active School Streets initiative. She is most excited about attending some meetings in-person and learning how to apply arts-based research methods in participatory research at CCBR.
Of all the places Carise has travelled to, she would like to go back to visit South Korea. She spent a few weeks in Gwangju when competing in a track and field competition there, and she wants to go back to visit Seoul. There was so much she wanted to see and experience but didn’t have the chance to! In her spare time, Carise likes to run, spend time with friends, and volunteer.
