Lianne is a Master of Social Work student at the University of Waterloo completing her practicum at the Centre for Community Based Research. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree and brings experience in addiction and mental health, in supporting people experiencing housing insecurity and in developmental services.   Through this work, Lianne has seen how programs and services are strengthened when people with lived experience are meaningfully involved in their design, implementation, and evaluation.

She was drawn to CCBR because of its emphasis on engaging community members as active contributors in the development of programs and policies that affect their lives. Lianne is particularly interested in how community-based research approaches support more responsive, equitable social and health systems.

Outside of work and school, Lianne enjoys playing guitar, listening to music, watching movies, engaging in creative practices, taking day trips, and values time outdoors.
