Welcome New Intern Student, Julia Campbell to CCBR!
Julia Campbell is a full-time student pursuing her Master's in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Waterloo. She is grateful to be an intern at the CCBR this fall term. After learning about community-based research in one of her courses, Julia felt a spark of curiosity ignite for how this research process can be enacted. The CCBR holds space for a range of different projects. The learning opportunities are vast, and the communities involved are diverse. Julia is looking forward to gaining facilitation skills and understanding evaluative processes in different contexts.
Julia completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Ottawa, where she gained foundational knowledge in research processes and acted as a student advocate for mental health and well-being. Julia then became certified as a Personal Support Worker and now practices as a bedside nurse. Julia is interested in how communities foster healing. She believes that community-based research is a key to understanding and evaluating approaches to building and restoring health in communities.
When she is not working, Julia enjoys spending time with her local church community, at her local library, and trying out many local cafes!
