Welcome New Intern Student, Jessica Baotic to CCBR!
Jessica is a Master of Social Work student at Wilfrid Laurier University, and an MSW Intern with CCBR. She is a Registered Psychotherapist, bringing over a decade of experience in the mental health and addiction sector, where she occupied roles in direct practice and leadership.
Jessica was drawn to CCBR because of its commitment to community-driven, participatory, and action-oriented research. Jessica believes that meaningful change requires listening to and learning from the people most affected by the issues being addressed. Her clinical and leadership experience have strengthened her interest in how lived experience, practice knowledge, and research come together to create more responsive programs, organizations, and systems.
At CCBR, Jessica is looking forward to developing her skills in community-based research while bringing her strengths in relationship building, and group facilitation to collaborative projects. She is particularly interested in learning how research can support communities to identify their own priorities, strengthening their capacity, and creating meaningful change.
Outside of work and school, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family. Story time with her two young children is her favourite time of day, offering a quiet opportunity to connect, unwind, and enjoy a cozy moment together.
