Our Commitments

We take our mission and values seriously and are continually learning about how best to live them out. This commitment extends both to how we run our non-profit organization as well as how we work with our many partners.
Here are some examples of how we practically express our commitment:
We provide a minimum of 10 bursaries each year for people from underrepresented and structurally marginalized communities to attend courses in our Certificate Program in Community-Based Research.
We offer up to 24 free 1-hour coaching sessions each year, prioritizing smaller equity-deserving organizations and groups.
We involve and mentor at least 2 placement students each year who are studying in fields that promote social justice and equity, and work to support their training in community-based research.
We donate 1% of our annual revenues to Indigenous groups on Turtle Island as part of our reparation efforts. The Indigenous groups we support are determined on an annual basis.
We strive to support community organizations and grassroots initiatives of various sizes. This includes mentoring smaller grassroots initiatives and non-profit organizations and looking for ways to support their development.
We continually strive to better live out our mission and values, and so we conduct our own internal evaluation that emphasizes critical self-reflection and that helps fuel our organizational learning.
