Guelph-Wellington Newcomer Youth Mental Health Study

CCBR and the Guelph Wellington Local Immigration Partnership partnered to investigate newcomer youth experiences with good mental health, mental health challenges, and mental health supports/services in city of Guelph and County of Wellington and to provide evidence-based recommendations on how to improve mental health outcomes for newcomer youth, and further support immigrant service provider organizations to help youth overcome barriers and fulfill their potential. The research methods included a document review, key informant interviews, focus groups, and a survey and was wrapped up with a community forum. This study ended in March 2021.
