Community-Based Research in Action Online Event
On September 24, 2026, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. EDT, join Community-Based Research Canada for "Centering Community in Community-Based Research" an online e-learning session sharing practical resources and learnings for strengthening community-engaged facilitation.
Topic: Cultivating Collective Wisdom: Facilitation Resources for Community Engagement
The session will feature insights from the Pedagogies of Community-Engaged Practice (PeCEP) project, a 3-year community-based research project created to explore, generate, and share knowledge about facilitation practices that support community-engaged work across different sectors.
Organizational partners included the Centre for Community Based Research, Righting Relations Canada, Toronto Arts Foundation’s Neighbourhood Arts Network, Women & HIV/AIDS Initiative, and the Community Engaged Research Institute at Simon Fraser University.
During this webinar, members of the Pedagogies of Community Engagement Collective, including CCBR's Director of Research and Education, Sarah Switzer, will share their collective approach to research design, information gathering, analysis and knowledge sharing. Through collaboration among community organizations, researchers, and facilitators, the project has generated practical resources to support meaningful and equitable community engagement across sectors.
