CCBR is supporting Food Banks Canada in strengthening its capacity to meaningfully, equitably, ethically, and sustainably design and facilitate a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to support evaluation, program design, research, and advocacy efforts.
This work focuses on helping Food Banks Canada explore the purpose and structure of a CAC, including goal setting, facilitation approaches, recruitment and membership processes, and compensation practices.
Particular attention is being given to equitable and accessible engagement strategies that meaningfully foreground lived experience in the design and ongoing operation of the committee.
Through this project, Food Banks Canada is building its internal capacity to navigate challenges, facilitate collaborative learning, and use community advisory processes to support ongoing organizational improvement. At the same time Food Banks Canada will be able to lean on CCBR’s depth of expertise in CAC development, facilitation, and administration for guidance, trouble-shooting, and vision-setting.
