CBR Capacity Building for Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities

This spring, the Centre for Community Based Research (CCBR) is excited to partner with Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC) to conduct training and capacity building on community-based research.

In collaboration with the Research & Innovation Committee of SCHC, CCBR will train SCHC staff in community-based research. This will include a series of two workshops, conducted twice. Following the training, an in-person retreat will be held with training attendees to draft preliminary research priority areas for the SCHC (to be further refined with community input), and to draft preliminary procedures for engaging with external research requests to ensure research is done in a community-based way.

Training slides and a summary of the retreat discussion identifying preliminary research priorities and procedures and next steps will be delivered to SCHC at the completion of this project so they can begin their research journey.
