We are delighted to share that Sarah Switzer is taking on the new role of Director of Research and Education at the Centre for Community Based Research (CCBR). This newly created position will help advance organization-wide initiatives, deepen partnerships, enhance organizational visibility, and initiate special projects aligned with our 2026 strategic plan.
Sarah is an adult educator, interdisciplinary scholar, and community-based participatory researcher with twenty years of experience supporting community-based approaches to research, and social change. Her work is grounded in collaboration, creativity, and a deep commitment to social justice, accessibility, and research done in partnership with communities and community-based organizations across a variety of sectors, including but not limited to health, education, and the arts.
For over 40 years, the Centre for Community Based Research has led over 500 community-based research and evaluation projects. We both ‘conduct’ and ‘promote’ community-based research, while also ‘dreaming up’ new community-based initiatives with our partners. Sarah will work closely with CCBR staff, leadership and partners to build a more sustainable and impactful organization, aligned with our mission.
We are excited for the care, imagination, and leadership Sarah will bring to this role as we continue building more responsive, supportive, and equitable communities together, with our partners.
