Social Innovation in Northern, Rural, and Indigenous Communities

Updated: Sep 18, 2020

The Centre for Community Based Research is the Secretariat and Co-Chair for Community-Based Research Canada (CBRC) and we are excited to announce an upcoming webinar!

September 25 - 12 noon EST

In this webinar, Jude Oritz and Gayle Broad from the NORDIK Institute will discuss why community-driven research is more likely to lead to social transformation. The NORDIK Institute, affiliated with Algoma University, is a community-based research organization in Northern Ontario. One of their projects that will serve as a case example for this webinar, is the Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (SEE) project. This project seeks to address Northern Ontario’s social and economic challenges by encouraging a movement of social enterprise and entrepreneurship that stresses community resilience, innovation, support and mobilization.
