Students

This program involves students from the University of Waterloo (Sociology), Wilfrid Laurier University (Community Psychology and Social Work) and University of Toronto (Psychiatry). Masters and doctorate level students from these disciplines were involved as research assistants and practicum students. Students have been developing skills in the following areas:
  • Proposal development
  • Literature review
  • Cultural-linguistic community outreach
  • Web design
  • Evaluation
  • Data analysis
Research findings of this program also informed professional education curricula, such as academic programs for social service workers, social workers, community psychologists, nurses, psychiatrists, and other mental health practitioners. This is accomplished through core and continuing education offerings within the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University and by looking for opportunities to disseminate the findings of the project at conferences for educators in the mental health professions.
