Participatory action research is a research approach which involves the participation of community members, those whose lives are affected by the problem under study, for the purpose of taking action and making change. This course provides a comprehensive overview of participatory action research as a research approach that moves beyond knowledge production toward social action and change. The basic objective of the course is to learn how to conduct participatory action research as we discuss the four phases of the research process, ethical considerations and theory.
