Creating a better future for communities through research

Norah Love, Researcher

In the fall of 2008, Norah began her work at CCBR as a practicum student from the Masters of Community Psychology program at Wilfrid Laurier University. At that time, she designed and co-led a workshop on program evaluation for First Nation community development workers in Northern Ontario. She truly valued this experience and is now constantly seeking opportunities to learn from Aboriginal people and become more involved with First Nation community development.

Now, as a full-time researcher at CCBR, she is involved as a project lead or team member in a variety of projects and initiatives at the municipal, provincial and federal level. Her projects at CCBR are constantly changing and evolving; however, her commitment to social change and the development of communities always remains the same.

Norah has extensive experience working with youth, particularly disengaged youth, and she has a keen interest in narrative and youth action research. She believes in the power of youth to solve youth related challenges, and believes that engaging youth with their community is essential to youth development.
