Jonathan Lomotey joined CCBR in 2001 while studying for a Master of Arts degree in Community Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is currently part-time faculty at the Faculty of Social Work, Wilfrid Laurier University. His doctoral work focused on understanding African traditional concepts of community partnership and their application to HIV and AIDS prevention and care. 

Research and Action Interests 

Jonathan's research and action interests include community supports for families, people with disabilities, and low income neighbourhoods. His work at CCBR is focused mainly on the areas of community development, family health, program evaluation, and mental health.

Recent Projects

Team Leader: House of Friendship After-School Program Review

The House of Friendship After-School Program Review is a needs assessment and sustainability planning. This project seeks to understand the after-school program needs and accessibility barriers for families living in low-income neighbourhoods, and identify effective and sustainable models of after-school programming for these neighbourhoods.

Team Member: An Evaluation of Recovery-Focused Case-Management in Waterloo-Wellington-Dufferin

A longitudinal process and outcome evaluation of case-management supports. This project is aimed at understanding how recovery-focused case management services lead to positive changes for mental health service users in Waterloo-Wellington-Dufferin.
