Jason Newberry, Senior Researcher

Jason Newberry is a Senior Researcher and has been at CCBR since 2003. His doctoral work focused on the meaningful participation of people with mental health difficulties on governing boards of mental health agencies. Alongside this work, Jason worked as an evaluation consultant before joining CCBR. Research and Action Interests Jason's research and action has focused on the field of program evaluation broadly, with specific interest in system-level evaluations, complex interventions, theory of change, community-based research methods, capacity building, knowledge mobilization and community development. His content interests are wide-ranging, with the greatest emphasis on community mental health, disabilities rights and support, primary prevention, and citizen participation, social determinants of health, family support and early childhood development and interventions. Other Interests Much of Jason's spare time is spent pursuing musical interests -- collecting music, seeing shows, playing guitar, and dabbling in home recording. His other interests include hockey, politics, independent film, and satire. Jason lives with his partner Linda in Guelph, Ontario.
