Andrew Taylor began at CCBR as a student intern in 1990, and has worked here ever since. He became a Research Director in 2004. Andrew's core interest is in using research techniques to contribute to the process of developing strong, supportive communities. Much of Andrew's research work in the last 10 years has focused on the design, implementation and evaluation of programs for young children and their families. Andrew is also interested in working with non-profit organizations that have an interest in building internal capacity to produce and mobilize knowledge. Research and Action Interests In his 20 years of experience as a community-based researcher, Andrew has been involved in more than 70 research projects. He has worked throughout Ontario and in communities across Canada. Andrew often works with large non-profit funders such as provincial government ministries, private foundations and United Ways. He also works frequently with family resource centres, community centres, and other neighbourhood-level grassroots organizations. Andrew is co-author of the OCSA Evaluation Handbook (link) and Building Sustainable Non-Profits (link). Andrew is also very active as a trainer and keynote speaker on community based research methods and non-profit program planning & management. In the last three years, Andrew has delivered more than 50 workshops and 20 keynote presentations.
