Alida works as the Program Coordinator for the CURA Demonstration Project entitled, "Strengthening Mental Health in Cultural Linguistic Communities", which is being undertaken by The Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre. She also works as a researcher and interpreter for CCBR.

Alida's interests include: Intercultural communication and facilitation, intercultural mental health issues, relationship building, group dynamic facilitation, second language acquisition, adult education and learning in addition to issues pertaining to new immigrants.

Alida moved to the Kitchener-Waterloo area in early 2008 from Montreal, via Victoria, BC. She loves the outdoors, is fanatic about all kinds of sports, and is a voracious reader. She has lived in Japan and The Netherlands and has traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe and Canada. She is constantly trying to find new and exciting ways to travel to exotic destinations while utilizing her many languages.
