The Making Gains Conference November 2 - 4, 2009

The Making Gains in Mental Health and Addictions Conference in Toronto is anticipating more than 300 delegates from across Ontario in November. The conference will provide an excellent networking and educational forum for all who can come. Currently, the Centre for Community Based Research will have five representatives making three different presentations with colleagues and community partners:

Allan Strong and Jason Newberry will present Building a Recovery Focused Mental Health System:  Reflections on Systems Change and Growth in Community Mental Health.

Baldev Mutta, Geoff Nelson, Jocelyn Booton and Joanna Ochocka will present From the Margins to the Core: a Case Example of a Cultural Community Leading Innovative Practice in Ontario.

Alida Abbott, Alia Gadalla, Rahmah Omar and Helen Song will present From Words to Action: Strengthening Mental Health in Cultural-Linguistic Communities.

Sarah Marsh, Joanna Ochocka and Jocelyn Booton will present Taking Culture Seriously in Community Mental Health - Community University Research Alliance during poster sessions on Tuesday November 3, 2009.

The Making Gains in Mental Health and Addictions Conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency Toronto, Ontario on November 2 - 4, 2009.
