Information sharing on Autism Services in Waterloo RegionApr 20, 2009
Extend-A-Family undertook a research project in early 2009 to identify the strengths and gaps in services for families with children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. The research is now complete and they are eager to share their learnings with other members of the community. CCBR's Andrew Taylor will be joining them to discuss the research findings of a recent study undertaken at CCBR which focuses more specifically on the autism services in Waterloo Region and Wellington County. Extend-A-Family is eager to learn more about the services other organizations are providing in the region, in addition to begining a dialogue that may produce new ways to partner with or support each other. At this meeting on April 20th, Extend-A-Family will also be showcasing their Igloo Community Networking site which has been established to help parents with a children who have autism check out resources and services and communicate with each other.
