Twenty five years as an innovator in community based research

Welcome! The Centre for Community Based Research is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Below are the anniversary events that we are hosting for Centre partners and friends.

October 31, 2007 - Anniversary kick-off event

About 100 people joined us for lunch at our 73 King St. office in downtown Kitchener. We officially unveiled our new name and new website, as well as presented the annual Helmut Braun scholarship award. Our keynote speaker was Dr. Lesley Cooper, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University.

January 26, 2008 - Gala dinner

An intimate evening of exquisite food and dance for our 100+ current and former board, staff, volunteers and students. The event helped connect Centre friends from over the years.

April 18, 2008 - International networking

The Waterloo launch of the University Community Partnership for Social Action Research Network (UCP-SARnet) was attended by over 60 people. This web platform, hosted on IGLOO, links academics, students and community members pursing community based research around the world. CCBR is a leading UCP-SARnet partner with the launch held here in Waterloo, Ontario at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). The launch featured a survey of community based research being conducted in Waterloo Region.
